The Bottom Line: The Asus N53S is a well-designed, well-built laptop that's packed with features that'll help you stay connected to the world. It has a super fast performance and includes an HDMI port which allows you to connect your computer to your TV for a bigger viewing screen or watching your favorite movies. This is a good-looking notebook that's perfect for checking e-mail, playing games, and watching videos on Hulu.

The Asus N53S has a very strong and good-looking appearance with its grey color and sturdy build. The all over matte surfaces prevent the lid from attracting any fingerprint or smudges from showing. The keyboard is a little crowded but there is a dedicated number pad which is nice to have if you're frequently calculating problems on your laptop. Above the keyboard, you'll find a few keys including a key for controlling the volume output, multimedia control buttons (play/pause), and the power switch. The touchpad is very responsive. The multi-touch surface even supports multi-finger gestures.

The display has a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. The screen shows good quality images. However, I'd recommend only using this laptop indoors. It has disturbing relfections on the display in bright surroundings, such as the outdoors. The "Sonic Master" speakers provide the N53S with a full and prominent sound. They're definitely good enough for watching/listening to that new movie you just got from Red Box. Battery life lasts a little bit over 2 hours, which is a bit disappointing. I'd make sure to bring your charger with you wherever you go, just in case.

Overall, the Asus N53S leaves you with a very positive impression. It has an excellent performance and comes with a great amount of features including VGA port, HDMI port, and a USB 3.0 port. This is definitely a laptop you'll be excited to get in the mail!
