'Password1' is the No. 1 Password Employed by Business Users

Out of all the passwords we could come up with, you'd think the most common password in the business world would be something a bit more creative than "Password 1". Unfortunately, in a recently released Global Security Report, Trustwave stated that is the number one password employed by business users. Why would it be "Password1"? The answer is simple in that those letters (and number) "satisfy the default Microsoft Active Directory complexity setting," stated the IT security research firm. Meaning "Password1" has a capitalized letter, a number, and the requisite number of characters to qualify under basic password security settings.

Therefore, the next time you set up a password for an e-mail account or something private, think of something a little bit more creative than "Password." Hackers are aware that we all assume no one would try something so easy and obvious. Be smart!
